Early Childhood
Three to Six Years
The Early Childhood Program at MLC provides an authentic Montessori experience within a small and caring classroom environment. The combination of mixed-ages and quality materials allows each child to learn in a more "real life" setting. No one child is expected to learn in the same way or at the same pace as any other child. Our goal in the Early Childhood Program, as in all of our programs, is to present learning opportunities and experiences in all academic areas that are attractive to children and then allow them to work through problems to their conclusion without interruption. They may do this independently, with the help of or in consultation with other children, or with direct instruction. Montessori Teachers are known as “guides" who do not simply provide answers, but provide only the amount of assistance needed for the child to be successful themselves. In this way, children not only acquire skills, but even more importantly, they develop a curiosity and drive to learn which will carry them through the rest of their academic lives.

"Once I walked through the doors of Montessori Learning Centre the energy spoke volumes. All of the students were engaged, adults were speaking to children with the utmost respect, and the materials were beautiful, mostly made of wood. Once my children graduated from MLC they were working above grade level, and most importantly continued to have a strong sense of community and inner drive to learn."
